The Rare Liberal Praise: Can One Nice Thing Be Said About President Trump?

Is it possible for liberals to say one nice thing about President Trump? This isn't about playing politics, but rather a discussion on the complexity of human nature and the universal appeal of even the most controversial figures.

Unlikely as It Sounds, Liberals Can Find What They Like

Not a liberal myself, but seeing as how some would claim that anyone who doesn't support every one of Trump's policies is a 'liberal,' I suppose I can weigh in on this topic. The question is: can liberals say one nice thing about him? After all, he has managed to bring out the worst in people and label them as such. Is this part of his agenda?

Personal Taste: His Hair

I do actually like his hair. As someone who is bald and envious of this, it's a unique style that only he could pull off. But this preference is purely personal and doesn't change the broader political stance many of us hold.

Why Would Liberals Say Nice Things?

Is it possible, you might ask? Well, even liberals don't need to lie like normal people breathe. They have facts and logic, which they use to their advantage, and those facts and logic don't care about being nice. They just exist. Facts and logic show that Trump is a vile, vulgar, disgusting, and disgraceful career criminal, a seditionist, and a traitor with no redeeming qualities. And that's not nice, is it?

Causes for Optimism

However, let's explore the hypothetical: if liberals were to say one nice thing, what could it be? You might think, 'Of course not! He has made so many controversial decisions and statements that there can be no positive aspect.' But let's look at some of his actions.

He recently tweeted that transgender people aren't welcome in the army. First, he tweeted this instead of making an executive order. Hopefully, he recognises that he can't do policy changes through Twitter. Still, he chose to insult and target a very oppressed minority, which is a problematic approach. Is this a historical parallel worth noting?

Empathy and Facts

Fact and logic would show that Trump is a disgrace. But it's worth remembering that human beings are complex. Even the most disliked or controversial figure can have some qualities that resonate with certain individuals. Why do some of his supporters stick by him?

But let's take a different perspective. In the past couple of weeks, Trump has attacked Charles Koch, calling him 'very stupid.' He also called Kayleigh McEnany 'nasty' and Ron DeSantis for his abortion ban, comparing Trump's stance to a 'terrible thing.' Can we agree that these people are bad at their jobs? Or are they simply doing poorly in the public eye?

Personal Reflections

While agreeing with Trump's criticism of these individuals, I am a product of the past. Ten years ago, my family had a plan to leave the country in case we became like Nazi Germany. My grandparents didn't have a plan and almost died. I couldn't help but think my parents were joking at the time.

Now, reflecting on these events, I am more determined than ever to advocate for a better future. If we learn from history, we can prevent similar situations from occurring. What can we learn from Nazi Germany's rise and fall?

Trump's Accountability

Yes, I am absolutely convinced that he is guilty of all the crimes he has been charged with. He has a long list of allegations and controversies, and while not all can be proven in a court of law, the broad consensus among the public is that he is indeed guilty.

But if we are to find one nice thing about him, we might consider the following: despite owning all branches of government, the Republicans have been unable to accomplish much. They have both legislative and judicial branches, but they apparently can't do 'Jackshit.' This is a rare silver lining in an otherwise bleak situation.

Moreover, Trump has made statements that align with some of my personal beliefs. For instance, his criticism of people like Charles Koch and Kayleigh McEnany for their incompetence, aligns with my perspective that these individuals are not good leaders. If people willing to lie for you daily and give billions to your campaign are not good enough, then maybe it's time to reassess.

Donald, as the saying goes, 'You gotta do what you gotta do.' If this is your approach, it's a sign that your methods are questionable at best. How effective are his methods?

Overall, it's clear that Trump has left a lasting impact. Whether positive or negative is subjective, but what's your take on Trump?
