Setting Up Your Bay Alarm Medical System: A Comprehensive Guide for Optimal Performance
Bay Alarm Medical offers comprehensive home medical alert systems designed to keep you safe and connected. Here’s a detailed guide to setting up your Bay Alarm Medical system, ensuring everything works smoothly.
Step-by-Step Setup Process
The setup process for a Bay Alarm Medical system is straightforward and comes with a detailed instruction packet. Let’s walk through the main steps to get you started.
1. Plug In the Base Station
The first step is to plug in the base station. If you are using a landline system, make sure to also plug in the phone jack. For the cellular base station, flip the O/I switch on the back to the I position.
2. System Status Confirmation
Wait for the status light to turn green, signaling that the system is ready. You should hear an audible confirmation saying “System Ready.”
3. Make a Test Call
To confirm the system works, press the wearable help button to place a test call. A monitor will answer; simply inform them that it is a test—to ensure your system is user-friendly, they will understand. If the initial call does not work, press the RESET button on the base station.
4. Conduct a Range Test
Ensure that all wearable and wall buttons work by conducting a range test. Turn on the “Range Test Mode” by pressing the “T/L” button on the landline base station or the “Mode” button on the cellular base station.
5. Test Wearable Buttons
Press and hold the wearable button you are testing continuously. The base station should start beeping. Walk around your home and confirm that the beeping continues. If the beeping stops, there’s likely a dead spot where the system and the button are not communicating. Move the base station to a more central location and try again.
6. Test Wall Buttons
To test the range of a wall button, head to the intended installation location and press and hold the button. If no beeping is heard, adjust the base station or the wall button’s location.
7. Final Reset
Press the reset button on the base station to exit range test mode. That’s it!
