For me, excelling in core engineering subjects such as mathematics and scoring well in the end-of-semester exams brought a sense of accomplishment. Abhay, with his usual wisdom, suggested watching 'Sholay', a classic 1975 Indian film. The movie started at 10 PM and lasted into the night, filled with laughter and shared moments. This moment embodied the spirit of friendship and the joy of simple pleasures during our academic journey.

Another memorable moment from my youth was an adventure that our hostel dwellers embarked upon. In 1974, we found ourselves in a hostel that had strict rules, especially concerning movie outings. Friends decided to sneak out late one night to watch a movie despite the ban. Thrilled by the thrill of the forbidden, they managed to get to the cinema and return stealthily. However, their celebration was short-lived as they discovered a signboard had been uprooted and displayed on the hostel wall. The morning brought dire consequences, as the warden had assigned the task of investigating the incident. Though the initiation of the signboard prank was a daring act of rebellion, the consequences acted as a stark reminder of hostel regulations.
