The next step is to choose the Pre-University Course (PUC) with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB). Veterinarian Entrance Exams and College Admissions in India

To become a veterinarian in India, you must follow a specific pathway. After completing your PCB, you will need to prepare for either the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) or the state veterinary entrance exam, depending on your state. These exams are conducted by the respective boards to admit students into veterinary colleges.

India has around 62 veterinary colleges offering undergraduate veterinary degrees. The duration of these programs is five and a half years, which includes a one-year compulsory rotational internship. Once you complete your degree, you must register with the state veterinary council to be recognized as a veterinarian. This registration ensures that you comply with the professional standards set by the veterinary community.

Eligibility and Admission Requirements

Admission to these undergraduate programs is typically based on entrance tests conducted by the concerned universities.
