As a student of class 12 and a JEE aspirant, my experiences have highlighted common struggles faced by my peers. Academic transitions, whether it be moving to a new school, changing subjects, or dealing with new environments, can be daunting. In my experience, fear and uncertainty are often the primary challenges. When I was an older student, I went through a traumatic experience of changing schools and subjects, which made me really prioritize my school life. My motivation came from finding something that made me deeply passionate about my field of study. In healthcare administration (HCA), I became particularly interested in how patient data was used for medical billing to determine insurance and life insurance rates. This experience fueled my passion for the field, and it made me more passionate about my studies.

It's crucial to find something that excites you and makes you want to learn more. When you are passionate about your studies, the academic journey becomes more enjoyable and fulfilling.

Pressure and Balancing Academics with Personal Life

As a student, I have experienced both reduced and increased academic pressure. Initially, I was an active participant in extracurricular activities and competitions. As I progressed through higher classes, my focus shifted more towards studies. I often felt a constant pressure to perform well, mainly because of the expectations from my parents. I frequently thought that I should be able to study now and enjoy life later, but this is not entirely true. Life doesn't offer many second chances, and one can only enjoy moments fully when they are available.

I still remember how I enjoyed my 10th grade to the fullest. However, in 11th and 12th, I was consumed by the pressure to excel academically. In 12th, I barely had time to return home except to sleep. I spent my days and evenings in tuition classes and school, often feeling like a robot. Academic life truly became monotonous, and the only thing I could do was focus on completing assignments and practical records to maintain a decent attendance.

Now, as a med school student, the situation is even more challenging. I face a constant tension between my studies and my personal life. We have weekly completion tests, and practical records must be submitted regularly. This has taken away a lot of my personal time. I used to cherish activities like cooking, reading novels, dancing, painting, and swimming, but now my life feels restricted.

The real struggle now is maintaining a balance between pursuing my goals and being myself. The academic competition is intense, and the pressure to excel leaves me feeling worn out. It's important to find ways to take breaks and recharge. Sometimes, a little downtime can make all the difference in academic success.
