1. Update Windows and Internet Explorer

Outdated software often leads to performance issues. Start by ensuring that both Windows and Internet Explorer are up to date. This can often resolve minor issues and improve system stability.

Steps:

Go to the Control Panel. Select 'Check for Updates' or 'Windows Update'. Ensure that all available updates are installed, and restart your computer if necessary. Visit the Microsoft website for the latest version of Internet Explorer, especially if you're using an older version.

2. Reset Internet Explorer Settings
