How to Delete iPhone Backup on Different Platforms
Deleting an iPhone backup is a common task, particularly if you want to take control of your data or free up space on your computer. Whether you use iCloud, iTunes, or another backup service, this guide will walk you through the process step-by-step.
Deleting iPhone Backup on Apple Devices
If you are using a Mac running Catalina or newer, you can find the backups through the Finder. Here’s how:
Connect your iPhone to your computer.
In the Finder, locate your iPhone in the sidebar.
Click on your iPhone’s name.
A setup window will appear. Look for the General tab (usually the first tab).
Scroll down to find the Manage Backups... button.
A popup will appear showing the backup options. Select the backup you want to delete and click Delete Backup.
Click OK to return to the General tab.
For older versions of macOS, you can follow a similar path through iTunes Preferences:
Open iTunes.
Go to Edit Preferences.
Select the Devices tab.
Under iPhone Backup, click the Delete button.
Deleting iPhone Backup via Google Dashboard
If the backup was made using the same Google account as your phone, you can also remove the backup via the Google Dashboard:
Go to the Google Dashboard and sign in with the same Google account used on your phone.
Click the arrow next to Android to see a list of all devices with backup data.
At the bottom of the list, you will see a Delete Backup Data button. Click it to delete the backed-up data from all devices.
Deleting iTunes Backup
If you used iTunes to backup your iPhone, here are the steps to delete the backup:
Open iTunes.
Click on the Edit menu.
Select Preferences.

Remember to always back up important data before deleting any backups to avoid losing critical information. Additionally, ensure that you know which backup you are deleting if you have multiple backups from different dates.
By following these steps, you can effectively delete iPhone backups on Macs and other systems.
