How Do Jehovah's Witnesses (JWs) Invite People to Their Meetings?
At Jehovah's Witnesses, or JWs, our meetings are all open to the public. Often, people begin to attend our meetings after they have started studying the Bible with one of our members. This way, they can explore the spiritual teachings and gain a deeper understanding of the Bible.
Studying the Bible
Our approach to inviting people to meetings is based on a shared interest in the Bible. We believe that most people find the Bible and our teachings intriguing, especially when presented through personal study. These initial meetings can lead to further exploration and a more profound understanding of biblical principles.
Special Talks and Encouragement
During these meetings, we often give special talks on topics that we think may be of interest or that could encourage visitors to continue their studies. Whether it's a talk on topics like life after death, the purpose of life, or how to find peace in a challenging world, there's much to gain. attending these meetings, and there is never any pressure to sign up or make a commitment.
Open and Welcoming Environment
Our meetings are always open and welcoming. We invite everyone to attend and there are no formal requirements other than to dress decently and refrain from causing a disturbance. We don't collect donations, and you don't need an invitation to attend. Our meetings are completely free, and no one is ever charged to attend.
Diverse Invitation Methods
We use a variety of methods to invite people to our meetings. We can invite individuals in person, by letter, or by phone call. Whether in a personal conversation or a written note, we explain how our meetings might benefit them and encourage them to join us. Additionally, we have a short video on our website that provides an overview of what a visitor might expect during a meeting at a Kingdom Hall. This video, coupled with personal explanations, helps potential attendees understand the experience and prepare for what to expect.
Preparing for the Meeting
Before attending a meeting, it's helpful for visitors to know what to expect. Rather than forcing anyone to commit, we focus on providing a friendly and informative experience. We want attendees to feel comfortable and to thoroughly enjoy their visit. The video and personal explanations ensure that visitors are prepared and can decide for themselves whether they want to continue exploring our teachings.
Whether it's an in-person invitation, a letter, a phone call, a video, or a personal explanation, our goal is to provide a warm and inviting environment. We believe that everyone has the right to explore spiritual beliefs freely and without pressure. If you're interested in learning more about the Bible and the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses, we encourage you to attend one of our meetings. We have nothing to hide and everything to share, and we hope you will find the answers you seek.
