How Did You Feel When You Got Selected for TCS?

Recalling my final day in college, I remember a batchmate's underhanded comment under the guise of a boisterous leg-pull. He had landed a job at CTS with a CTC of 3.38 LPA. This incident fueled my determination to secure a job, regardless of the field, as long as it offered remunerative work.

Job Hunting Journey

My job hunting journey led me to the TCS NQT Phase 2 in August. During the Viswakarma Puj Pareference to lord Vishnurelief, I received an email informing me that I had cleared the aptitude test. The following month, my interview was scheduled at Gitanjali Park. The interview, which revolved around Electric Vehicles (EVs), Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML), and Tesla's autopilot software, left me with optimistic vibes.

During Durga Puja, I was filming railway-related videos in my hometown of Birbhum, sharing a particular morning videonex line indicating that it had been recycled. Around Nabami, I received a heartwarming surprise when I got a mail with my job offer from TCS. I felt elated, as if I was flying on clouds, much like my friend described.

Response to the Job Offer

My mother was overjoyed, and we had to hurry back to Kolkata to finalize all the documents before the start date. We visited relatives, who were equally delighted, and I shot celebratory railfanning videos. The joy of securing the job, especially in Kolkata, meant no relocation or rental expenses—quite a relief.

Emotional Impact: Getting the TCS job offer was one of the best days of my life. Although I received other job offers later, TCS holds a special place in my heart. The on-campus recruitment drive on 16th September 2017 was intense. The day of the interview arrived, and my name finally appeared on the list of selected candidates.

Interview Experience

The interview process began early in the morning, with my turn coming up around 3 PM. Despite the tension of waiting for the announcement, I felt a sense of confidence after the exam. The long wait until 10:30 PM was stressful, but when my name was called out, the relief was palpable. My acceptance of the job offer brought a profound sense of worth to me.
