BITS Admissions: Can I Apply for Iteration 2 Without Applying for Iteration 1?
Can I Apply for Bits Admissions Iteration 2 Without Applying for Iteration 1?
Currently, the BITS Admissions team has not implemented an option for applicants to directly apply for the Iteration 2 without participating in the previous round, known as Iteration 1. This policy ensures a fair and structured application process for all eligible candidates.
Eligibility for Iteration 2
As per the latest BITS Admissions brochure, the eligibility criteria clearly state: “The student who has not applied for session 1 is not eligible to apply for session 2.” Therefore, candidates must participate in the first iteration to remain eligible for subsequent rounds.
What Happens if I Missed the First Iteration?
Even if you were waitlisted in the first round, you must pay the required fees (INR 42,800) to remain in the waitlist for further rounds. Skipping Iteration 1 and attempting to directly apply for Iteration 2 is not permissible. If you miss the payment, you will be removed from the application list.
However, fret not! If you were waitlisted and did not get a seat in the first round, you can re-apply and participate in the counselling process. You will have to pay the admission fees for the second iteration and the fee will be refundable if you do not get the desired seat. Since the seat becomes vacant if you are not admitted, the counselling process continues for better placement.
Are Separate Applications Required for Iteration 2?
No, you do not need to apply separately for Iteration 2. If you were eligible and missed the first iteration, the BITS Admissions team will take care of the necessary steps. The team will consider your application for future rounds based on the available seats. Rest assured, they will ensure that your application remains active as long as you remain eligible and meet the required criteria.
If you are currently on the waitlist, you need to pay the admission fee of INR 32,500. This can be done online or at your nearest ICICI bank branch. If you have exhausted all payment methods, you may need to contact the BITS Admissions office for further guidance.
Can I Write the BITSAT and Participate in Iteration 2?
Writing the BITSAT (Bharath Institute of Technology Admission Test) means you are already considered for the first iteration. To continue participating in the subsequent iterations, you need to pay the one-time fee after the first iteration. Missing this fee means you will no longer be considered for further rounds. There is no provision to pay this fee later, and you will be removed from the application list.
Unfortunately, you can’t simply skip the first iteration and apply for the second without meeting the required criteria. This ensures all applicants complete the initial round, which is necessary for fair evaluation and selection.
Accurate and timely submission of all required documents and payments are crucial. Whether you are already waitlisted or considering applying for the first iteration, make sure to stay informed and proactive throughout the entire application process. Good luck!
